Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including individual and small business returns.
• Successful completion of the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain tax concepts in client-friendly language.
• Ability to collaborate within a team environment to deliver a seamless client experience.
• Must complete continuing education and meet all IRS and applicable state requirements.
• High school diploma / GED / equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Guide clients through a consultative experience, review tax situations, identify opportunities, and provide personalized recommendations.
• Translate complexity into clarity — Present tax concepts in client-friendly language so clients understand their return and options.
• Deliver forward-looking advice — Help clients define financial goals and provide proactive tax planning guidance.
• Own the accuracy of every return — Review and ensure filings meet IRS regulations and HR Block standards.
• Stay sharp on tax law and technology — Keep current with evolving tax regulations, leverage HR Block tools and training.
• Build lasting client relationships — Earn client loyalty through empathy, integrity, and follow-through
