Job summary

Sugarbush Resort is hiring an Apprentice Instructor for its Ski and Ride School in Vermont. The role offers a minimum 18 days on snow with starting pay of $15/hour, increasing after successful instructing certifications. Part-time shifts available, with holidays and weekends required.

Join a team of professional instructors dedicated to safety, fun, and high-quality guest experiences. Prior teaching/coaching and PSIA/AASI or USSA certifications are preferred; Spanish-speaking skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Intermediate skier/snowboarder on blue terrain.
• Experience teaching/coaching or ski/snowboard instruction.
• Experience working with children.
• Spanish language is a plus.
• PSIA/AASI or USSA certifications preferred.
• Available to work holidays and weekends.
• Must complete mandatory on-snow training.
• Must stand/walk on snow and lift 50 lbs.
• Great guest service and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Uphold safety on varied terrain in winter conditions.
• Arrive to work on time prepared for all duties.
• Attend morning meetings.
• Supervise and assist children in class, including lunch.
• Instruct assigned levels per Instructor Guide.
• Provide a safe and fun learning environment.
• Assist lift attendants with loading/unloading children per policy.
• Assist in program operations (registration, equipment fitting, areas upkeep).
• Communicate lesson content and progress to guardians.
• Ensure children return to guardians.
• Uphold Vermont Skier Safety Act rules.
