Job summary

Sugarbush Resort is hiring ski and ride instructors for the winter season. The ideal candidate is at least 16, an intermediate skier/snowboarder, and has teaching or mentoring experience with children.

USSA/PSIA/ASI certifications are preferred, with opportunities to grow. Availability for holidays and weekends is required, with full- and part-time options and a focus on safety and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Intermediate skier/snowboarder on groomed blue terrain.
• Experience teaching/coaching or mentoring and/or ski/snowboard instructor experience.
• Experience working with children.
• Spanish language a plus.
• PSIA/AASI Level I, II or III certification preferred.
• USSA certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uphold safety on varied mountain terrain and winter conditions.
• Attend morning meetings and be on time.
• Supervise and assist children in class, including lunch and snack times.
• Instruct levels per the Instructor Guide with clear, accurate content.
• Create a safe and fun learning environment with engaging class handling.
• Assist lift attendants with loading/unloading children on the chairlift (Kids on Lifts policy).
• Support registration, equipment fitting directions, and maintenance of teaching areas and facilities.
• Communicate lesson content/progress with guardians and ensure children are returned to guardians.
• Follow Vermont Skier Safety Act guidelines and company policies.
