Job summary

Lane County Public Works is seeking a Seasonal Road Maintenance Worker to join the Vegetation Crew based in Eugene. This is an outdoor, hands-on role that supports roadside maintenance to keep roadways clear and safe for the community.

The position runs Monday–Thursday, 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with overtime as needed. This is a 626 represented position budgeted for up to 1,040 hours in the fiscal year.

Qualifications

• One year of experience operating light equipment preferred.
• Background check required (seven-year criminal history).
• Must have a valid Oregon driver's license by time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Perform vegetation control along roadsides, including mowing, trimming, brush cutting, and debris removal.
• Operate light equipment and tools.
• Assist with general road maintenance tasks as part of a team.
