Job summary

Lane County Public Works is seeking a Seasonal Road Maintenance Worker to join the Vegetation Crew in Eugene. This is an outdoor, hands-on role focused on maintaining roadways and right-of-way for public safety and aesthetics.

You will perform vegetation control, operate light equipment, and collaborate with a crew on county-wide road maintenance tasks. A year of related experience is preferred, and an Oregon driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• One year of experience operating light equipment or performing unskilled or semi-skilled tasks preferred.
• Must pass a seven-year criminal history background check before entering County employment.
• Must possess a valid driver's license at time of application and a valid Oregon driver's license by time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Perform vegetation control along roadsides, including mowing, trimming, brush cutting, and debris removal.
• Operate light equipment and tools.
• Assist with general road maintenance tasks as part of a team.
