The position is full-time and based in the Goldendale-Bickleton-White Salmon-Glenwood area, with responsibilities including operating spray trucks, mowing, herbicide applications, and vegetation surveys. Responsibilities include maintaining records, ensuring safety, and communicating with the public about vegetation management goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Washington State driver's license required.
• Valid pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Valid Washington State weed control license or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Valid Flagger's Card or ability to obtain within 18 months of employment.
• Valid First Aid Medical Card or ability to obtain within 18 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a spray truck and tractor mower for managing noxious weeds and roadside vegetation on County roads.
• Mix herbicides and perform applications; maintain application records.
• Read, understand and follow all pesticide labels.
• Maintain herbicide inventory, equipment, and labor records for billing, payroll, and regulatory uses.
• Provide leadership in maintaining the County roadside vegetation and noxious weed control program.
• Cut brush and vegetation using heavy equipment and hand tools; perform vegetation management county-wide.
• Conduct roadside vegetation surveys and interact with the public about practices.
