Job summary

H&R Block seeks a seasonal Operations Technical Specialist to support the readiness of its seasonal tax office network. You will help set up, open, operate, and close offices, install signage, and ensure brand standards across multiple locations.

Responsibilities include hardware installation, routine maintenance, inventory management, and coordinating with district leadership and technology teams. A flexible, field-based schedule and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow direction while exercising sound judgment in a field-based environment.
• Ability to lift and move office equipment up to 55 pounds or more, with or without accommodation.
• Basic technical knowledge: setting up, maintaining, troubleshooting computer hardware and office tech.
• Flexible schedule based on business needs in a fast-paced field role.
• Strong organization and prioritization; work independently on multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support the setup, opening, closure, and relocation of seasonal tax offices.
• Install and verify window clings, lightboxes, and open signs; confirm brand compliance.
• Perform custodial tasks to keep offices clean and ready for operation.
• Perform routine building maintenance (bulbs, tiles, HVAC vents, minor repairs).
• Identify issues requiring certified technicians and notify DOCs.
• Install, remove, and support PC hardware across multiple office locations.
• Troubleshoot basic hardware issues and document incidents and resolutions.
• Deliver supplies and materials to and from offices in a timely manner.
• Maintain inventory of district resources, supplies, and computer equipment.
• Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of supported products and systems.
• Partner with leadership and tech teams to support office readiness goals.
• Participate in required training and other duties as assigned.
