Job summary

Southern West Virginia Asphalt, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Lab Technician to sample asphalt product and ensure it meets required tests.

The role involves coordinating with management, plant personnel and inspectors to obtain samples and design mixes, while maintaining safety and documented records. The position requires a high school diploma (preferred), Excel familiarity, and possible WVDOH certification in the future.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred, but not required.
• WVDOH Asphalt Plant Technician certification preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily/weekly sampling with management, plant personnel, crewmembers and inspectors to obtain samples and designs.
• Understand asphalt procedures and production; ensure quality control standards are met.
• Prepare and submit documentation to Quality Control personnel; address test results and problems.
• Maintain safety standards and PPE; be flexible with schedule changes and overtime as needed.
• Possess reliable attendance and ability to lift 50 lbs; pass drug test and background check.
