Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED (verified during pre-employment background process).
• Completion of an approved (accredited) Medical Assistant training program.
• If using an UNAPPROVED (non-accredited) MA program, must have a National Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA) via AAMA, AMT or NHA.

Responsibilities

• Assists provider with exams, including patient vitals, procedures, and direct patient care under supervision.
• Administers medications per policy and provider direction; adheres to safety protocols for administration.
• Perform blood draws and may collect urine samples for testing including drug screens.
• May perform splinting, casting, and sports physicals; assist in ear lavage and wound care.
• Notifies provider of unusual patient occurrences; reports safety concerns to Clinic Manager.
• Proficient in EMR/EHR and supports back-office patient care and front-office duties as needed.
