Job summary

Rutgers University’s School of Environmental and Biological Sciences in Cape May, NJ is seeking a Seasonal Marine Field Worker to support the Haskin Shellfish Research Laboratory and NJ Aquaculture Innovation Center. The role involves on-site duties in a dynamic aquaculture setting and collaboration with researchers.

Qualifications include high school education or higher, with a preference for a science/technical background. The position is full-time on-site with an hourly pay rate.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education and Experience: High school/vocational school education or equivalent experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a scientific/technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education and relevant laboratory technician or research study experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs microalgal culture.
• Assists in spawning of bivalve mollusks.
• Performs rearing of larvae and post-set juveniles.
• Maintains hatchery larval and downweller tanks and nursery upweller raceway tanks and equipment.

Education
