Job summary

Rutgers University’s Marine Field Station seeks a temporary Operations Manager to support principal investigators in complex experiments, field work, and data management. You will supervise hourly staff, maintain labs, and coordinate vessel use, ensuring safe, organized operations at the field station in New Jersey.

Responsibilities include training students and technicians in lab methods, maintaining equipment, and documenting work for research papers, while complying with IACUC and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marine science or related field with 2 years of field research and data management.
• Willing to complete MOITC and safety trainings.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Document work performed and maintain research databases.
• Supervise hourly staff and long-term sampling programs.
• Schedule and perform maintenance of specialized equipment.
• Maintain wet-lab operations per IACUC protocols and train students.
• Coordinate vessel and vehicle use; serve as point of contact.
