Position Description

Are you detail oriented? Do you enjoy problem-solving to ensure equipment functions effectively? The Seasonal Maintenance Worker maintains county facilities' appearance and cleanliness, performing general upkeep and minor scheduled maintenance. Work occurs during Spring, Summer, and Fall, with varied daily environments performing tasks for safety, comfort, security, and beautification county-wide. The role involves general supervision, handling moderately complex issues, and referring complex problems to higher-level staff.

• Salary: $31,408 to $35,318 ($15.10 to $16.98 per hour); Grade 16 on the 2025 salary schedule, up to $39,228 ($18.86 per hour).

Job Duties

• Perform general maintenance, minor repairs, cleaning, landscaping, and upkeep of facilities.
• Handle repairs for lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and equipment.
• Manage work orders, prioritize tasks, and provide leadership or mentoring as assigned.

Qualifications

• Technical school/trades program accreditation and 2+ years of experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Previous maintenance experience and ability to use power and hand tools.
• Ability to prioritize workloads and perform physical activities in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate county vehicles and equipment.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions

Includes indoor/outdoor work, physical activity, use of equipment, exposure to hazards, and driving between sites.
