Summary: Hennepin Healthcare has a current opening for a Facility Maintenance Worker in our Facilities Maintenance department. This full-time (1.0 FTE) position works evenings from 12:30 to 9:00 pm. Under supervision, the employee performs work of moderate difficulty in general maintenance and routine tasks.

Responsibilities:

1. Collect and dispose of trash and litter, and empty trash receptacles daily.
2. Clean, service, and check fluid levels and batteries of vehicles and small gas engines.
3. Maintain sidewalks, driveways, and building entrances to be free of ice, snow, and safety hazards daily.
4. Flexible hours required for snow removal.
5. Maintain foliage, grass, shrubs, etc., and adjust sprinkler heads as needed.
6. Maintain interior structures including walls, floors, windows, ceilings, light fixtures, and vents.
7. Coordinate equipment repairs.
8. Deliver, receive, and inventory equipment and supplies to the facility and other hospital locations.
9. Inspect, assemble, deliver office furniture, and maintain storage areas for surplus.
10. Assist tradespersons or contractors in locating or setting up equipment.
11. Assist with office moves as requested.
12. Identify, package, label, and transport hazardous waste; inspect hazardous waste storage sites.
13. Operate and maintain grounds equipment.
14. Perform daily patient bed pickup.
15. Perform ramp cleaning duties daily.
16. Perform other duties as assigned after applicable training.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma.
• One year of general mechanical and facilities maintenance experience, or an approved equivalent of education and work experience.
• Valid Minnesota driver’s license or recognized equivalent.
• Satisfactory driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years.

• Proficiency in English.
