GRASSLANDS CLUB

Gallatin, TN | Located northeast of Nashville in the rapidly growing city of Gallatin, Tennessee, Tennessee Grasslands (TNG) offers a fully private golf and country club experience in a beautiful lakefront setting. The Club boasts two clubhouses featuring multiple private dining outlets, a full-service event center, two lakeside pools, two Bill Bergin-designed 18-hole championship golf courses, a 9-hole short course, a five-bay teaching facility, two fitness facilities, and a racquet sports complex with year-round access.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Title: Line Cook

Reports to: Executive Chef/Sous Chef

Purpose: To execute high-quality, consistent, and beautifully presented dishes to ensure an exceptional dining experience for our members and guests.

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience

Type: Full-time and Part-time positions available

Shift: AM and/or PM shifts available


JOB DESCRIPTION

Grasslands Club is currently seeking talented and experienced Line Cooks for our Culinary team. The position involves working in a fast-paced kitchen, ensuring food quality, presentation, and cleanliness. This position requires strong culinary skills, teamwork, and the ability to perform well under pressure. The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating dishes to the highest standard according to the Chef's recipes and specifications.

Join a team of dedicated culinary professionals, led by an award-winning Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef, who are enthusiastic about creating an excellent dining experience for our members and guests. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Food Preparation:
    • Prepare ingredients for cooking, such as chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces.
    • Ensure that food items are stored properly and labeled with dates to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
  • Cooking & Plating:
    • Execute precision cooking techniques.
    • Prepare quality dishes according to specifications and standards.
    • Cook menu items in cooperation with the kitchen team, ensuring consistency and quality.
    • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning of all dishes.
    • Maintain awareness of portion sizes and waste reduction.
  • Station Management:
    • Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies for service.
    • Manage a specific station in the kitchen efficiently.
    • Ensure the station is clean, organized and properly stocked at all times.
    • Communicate effectively with other cooks and kitchen staff to coordinate orders and ensure timely delivery of food.
  • Quality Control:
    • Ensure the food quality meets the standards of the establishment by tasting, adjusting seasoning, and checking for presentation before service.
    • Ensure food is cooked to the correct temperature and follows any dietary restrictions or modifications requested by guests.
    • Provide feedback to the chef on any issues or improvements regarding food preparation.
  • Health & Safety:
    • Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards.
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, including equipment, surfaces, and tools.
    • Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work efficiently with the kitchen team to ensure timely and smooth service.
    • Assist other cooks and kitchen staff as needed, supporting an environment of teamwork.
    • Participate in the kitchen's ongoing development of new recipes or menu items.
    • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff regarding orders and special requests.
  • Inventory & Waste Management:
    • Assist in inventory checks and managing kitchen supplies to avoid waste.
    • Monitor and report any inventory shortages or issues to the chef or kitchen manager.
    • Ensure minimal waste by using ingredients effectively and maintaining portion control.

  • Two years of Line Cook experience
