Job summary

City of Fort Wayne is hiring a Leaf Pick-Up Laborer for the Street Department to support leaf collection from October through December. This seasonal role is performed outdoors and involves active, hands-on work with the team to keep neighborhoods clean.

Requirements are minimal: a high school diploma or GED, ability to follow instructions, reliability, and teamwork. Steel-toe footwear is required; valid Indiana driver’s license is recommended but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• No previous experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Rake, sweep, collect, and remove leaves and other debris.
• Assist with general cleanup throughout assigned neighborhoods.
• Use hand tools and help operate equipment such as leaf vacuum machines.
• Safely perform physically demanding work, including bending, twisting, climbing, pushing, reaching, and regularly lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Follow all City safety procedures and work professionally with coworkers and the public.
