Job summary

Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the Mystic Complex in Boston Region is seeking a Laborer II for the 26/27 winter season. This full-time seasonal role runs from 11/15/26 to 3/20/27 and requires 40 hours per week with potential weekend/holiday work.

Primary duties include general manual labor for trades, drainage, grading, planting, sign installation, and routine maintenance of public grounds. Six months of related experience is preferred; diverse landscape tasks may be involved.

Qualifications

• Six months of full-time or equivalent part-time manual labor experience in construction or maintenance.
• Ability to perform physical labor and operate manual and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual labor tasks to assist skilled tradesmen.
• Installs and maintains drainage, sewers and water conduits.
• Digs trenches, grades dirt and materials with basic tools.
• Sets curbing and repairs pavement with paving materials.
• Installs and maintains signs using basic tools.
• Plants, transplants, prunes, and maintains landscape elements.
• Loads/unloads supplies and inventories materials.
• Operates handheld power tools and small equipment.
• Operates light vehicles as needed.
