Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a Seasonal Assistant to support all seasonal programs, including the Annual Kettle Campaign, toy and food drives, distributions, and volunteer recruitment and management.

You will help secure kettle locations, manage equipment, train and schedule volunteers, count and deposit funds, and assist with end-of-season processes and reporting. Strong organization and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Ability to speak and write English at a professional level.
• High degree of confidentiality.
• Computer literate in Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and telephone etiquette.
• Strong time management and multitasking ability.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Secure and manage kettle locations per policy.
• Ensure kettle equipment is in good working order and maintained.
• Recruit and train volunteer kettle workers.
• Assist with scheduling and supervision of kettle workers.
• Fill in for kettle workers as needed.
• Assist in counting and depositing kettle funds.
• Maintain equipment condition and supply levels for the kettle season.
• Deliver and pick up kettle equipment daily.
• Assist with end-of-season inventory and storage.
• Collect and submit volunteer hours as needed.
• Prepare paperwork and reports for supervisor.
• Assist with food and toy collection and distribution.
• Perform office tasks as needed.
