Job summary

Tennessee Valley Hospitality LLC, dba Skull Island is seeking a seasonal Host to welcome and assist visitors at our island destination in Tennessee. The role involves gate and check-in duties, guest services, and basic retail tasks within a dynamic operations setting.

Typically two people share responsibilities, including housekeeping and safety checks. The position requires a flexible schedule, strong communication, and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to de-escalate challenging situations with guests or co-workers.
• Basic recordkeeping and money handling experience.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Able to lift 20 pounds frequently and up to 25+ pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, helpful customer service and relay recreation area rules.
• Register campers, collect fees, and sell retail items; assist with reservations.
• Operate a cash register; process cash/credit transactions and log revenues.
• Monitor parking, boat ramps, and picnic areas; maintain information boards.
• Perform rounds to ensure safety and cleanliness of campgrounds and facilities.
• Clean restrooms, common areas, and conduct light janitorial duties as scheduled.
• Turn over rental cabins, handle laundry, stock supplies, and respond to spills.
• Assist with activity programs or retail duties as needed.
