The Town of Essex seeks 1 or 2 Highway Maintenance Class III Operators in the Highway Division of Public Works for a temporary five-month position (November 1, 2026 through April 1, 2027), 40 hours per week, with hours 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday–Friday and overtime as needed.

The role involves maintaining town roadways and facilities, and winter plowing, using equipment like a road grader, backhoe, and street sweeper. A valid Class B CDL and 5 years' snow plow experience are required.

Qualificações

• Valid Class B CDL (or higher) is required.
• Previous heavy equipment operation experience is required.
• 5 years' snow plowing experience with a large commercial vehicle.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain and repair Town roadways and public works facilities.
• Operate heavy equipment including road grader, backhoe, and street sweeper.
• Winter plowing of Town roads with overtime as needed.
• Adhere to the 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. schedule; overtime may be required in winter.
