The Town of Essex is seeking 1 or 2 Highway Maintenance Class III Operator positions in the Highway Division of Public Works for a temporary 5-month term from November 1, 2026 through April 1, 2027. Work hours are 7:00 a.m.

to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed in winter. Duties include general maintenance on Town roadways and facilities, and operation of heavy equipment such as a road grader, backhoe, and street sweeper.

Qualifikationen

• Requires valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (or higher) and experience operating heavy equipment.
• 5 years' snow plowing experience with a large commercial vehicle.

• Perform general maintenance and repair work on Town roadways and public works facilities (including water, sewer and storm water mains).
• Operate heavy equipment such as a road grader, backhoe, and street sweeper.
• Winter role focuses on snow plowing and maintaining roads; overtime required during winter.
