The Town of Hartford, Vermont, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Highway Equipment Operator 1. This role primarily operates a range of trucks and highway equipment, handling plowing, salting, and sanding in winter and supporting maintenance and construction in other seasons.

Minimum qualifications include 2–3 years of relevant experience or an education/experience mix. A Class B CDL with Tank Endorsement is required or obtainable within 1 year of employment.

• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant work experience, or a combination of education and experience.
• Possess a Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Tank Endorsement or be able to acquire within 1 year of employment.
• Regular hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
• Starting wage is $22.64 per hour with benefits including health and dental insurance, optional comp time accrual, paid time off, and pension.

Highway Equipment Operator 1

The Town of Hartford, Vermont is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Highway Equipment Operator 1. This position will primarily operate a variety of trucks and other highway equipment, involving plowing, salting and sanding roads in winter, and assisting in general highway maintenance and construction work in other seasons, with a focus on operation of basic to moderately complex trucks and equipment, as well as manual labor. Minimum qualifications include: 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired. Possess a Class B Commercial Drive License (CDL) with Tank Endorsement or be able to acquire within 1-year of employment. Regular work hours are Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm. This is a full-time position starting at $22.64 per hour with benefits that include health and dental insurance, optional comp time accrual, paid time off, and Vermont Municipal Employees Retirement System pension.
