Job summary

The DeLong Co., Inc. is seeking a Grain Scale Operator for a full-time seasonal role based in Waterman, Illinois. You will manage scale operations, assist with grain grading and sampling, and ensure accurate record keeping while delivering excellent customer service.

Typical hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4 p.m., with additional hours during peak harvest seasons. Flexible schedule and weekend availability may be required. The position emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service at the counter.
• Manage inbound and outbound grain shipments for customers at the scale.
• Grade grain and identify foreign materials.
• Record test data: weights, temperatures, grades, moisture, quantities.
• Maintain records for trucking weighing and grading activities.
• Coordinate delivery numbers and daily inputs; verify accuracy.
• Operate on-scale interface system and transfer data.
• Respond to customer inquiries at the counter.
• Assist with other office functions as needed.
