Job summary

The DeLong Co., Inc. is seeking a Grain Scale Operator for a full-time seasonal role in Illinois. The position focuses on scale operations, customer service, and basic grain accounting, with responsibilities including grading, sampling, and data recording.

Typical hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday–Friday, with mandatory additional hours during peak seasons. A seasonal bonus may be provided based on attendance and performance at harvest end.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service when greeting and serving customers.
• Manage inbound and outbound grain shipments for customers.
• Grade grain and identify foreign materials.
• Record test data (weights, temperatures, grades, moisture).
• Perform record keeping for trucking weighing and grading activities.
• Coordinate delivery numbers and daily inputs with accuracy.
• Operate on-scale data transfer interfaces and respond to inquiries.
