Job summary

The DeLong Co., Inc. is seeking a Grain Scale Operator in Illinois to handle scale operations, customer service, and basic grain accounting. You will manage inbound/outbound shipments, assist with grading and sampling, and maintain accurate records. Strong communication and a professional demeanor are essential.

This full-time seasonal role offers weekday hours and a potential seasonal bonus based on attendance and performance during the harvest season.

• Ability to work long hours on a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service skills at all times when greeting and servicing customers.
• Manage inbound and outbound grain shipments for customers coming across the truck scale.
• Grade grain and identify foreign materials.
• Record test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, or moisture content, and quantities inspected or graded.
• Perform required record keeping for trucking weighing and accurate grading activities.
• Coordination of delivery numbers, daily inputs, and verification of accuracy.
• Operates on-scale interface system and transfer of data.
• Responds to customer inquiries at the counter.
• Assisting with other office functions as needed.
