Job summary

The DeLong Co., Inc. is seeking a Grain Scale Operator for a full-time seasonal role in Wisconsin. You will handle scale operations, customer service, and grain sampling, while maintaining accurate records and data entry.

Strong communication and reliability are essential as you support grain inbound/outbound tasks and grading activities. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4 p.m., with additional hours during peak seasons.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service at the counter and during shipments.
• Manage inbound and outbound grain shipments over the truck scale.
• Grade grain and identify foreign materials.
• Record test data (weights, temperatures, moisture, grades) and quantities inspected.
• Maintain trucking weighing records and ensure data accuracy.
• Coordinate delivery numbers and daily inputs, verify accuracy.
• Operate the on-scale interface system and transfer data.
• Assist with other office functions as needed.

Brief Description

The Grain Scale Operator’s responsibilities involve scale operations, customer service, communications, clerical tasks, basic grain accounting and other duties as assigned. Operator is responsible for all commodity inbound and outbound tasks and assisting with grain grading and sampling tasks. You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. It is important to represent the company in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times when providing exceptional customer service.

A seasonal bonus may be provided based on attendance and performance at the end of the completed harvest season.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time seasonal position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours. Additional hours are mandatory during peak seasons.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
