Job summary

Western Grain Marketing is hiring a Grain Handler Technician to safely handle, store, and move grain within a grain facility. You will operate equipment, maintain storage systems, and ensure safety and quality standards.

The role requires lifting heavy objects, ability to work in various weather, and a strong commitment to safety and accuracy in record-keeping. This is a full-time on-site position supporting peak planting and harvesting seasons.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Basic math and computer skills for record-keeping and inventory.
• Strong mechanical aptitude to operate machinery.
• Forklift or heavy machinery certification.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Willingness to work outside hours and in varied weather.
• Commitment to safety guidelines and regulations.
• Excellent communication and customer service.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and load grain using conveyors and elevators.
• Operate and maintain grain handling machinery and storage systems.
• Conduct quality checks on grain moisture and weight.
• Monitor inventory levels and storage practices.
• Clean and maintain grain bins, pits, and work areas.
• Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Comply with safety regulations including PPE use.
• Maintain accurate records of grain shipments and activities.
