Job summary

FS GRAIN is seeking a Seasonal Grain Elevator Operator in Mazon, IL. Under the supervision of the Facility Manager, you will handle grain, assist with safety, maintenance, rolling stock, and customer service at our grain elevator.

Requirements include a high school diploma or related agricultural experience, ability to lift 51–70 lbs, and willingness to travel and be on-call. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and competitive total rewards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and/or experience in related agricultural field.
• Proven ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Understanding and willingness to learn grain handling.
• Understanding and experience with mechanical diagnosis, service, repairs, maintenance, and upkeep of equipment and vehicles.
• Preferred basic computer skills and ability to use computer to enhance grain handling.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and ability to travel independently and overnight when necessary.
• Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant.
• Occasionally exposed to extreme weather and dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for grain handling including incoming, stored, and outgoing grain.
• Maintains grain quality, blending, and providing grain drying services.
• Responsible for housekeeping related to grain handling.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations and drives maintenance of equipment.
• Provides professional customer service that results in a pleasant experience for customers.
