Job summary

FS Grain, LLC in Polo, IL is hiring a Seasonal Grain Elevator Operator to manage grain handling, quality control, drying, and customer service under the Facility Manager. This role supports safety, equipment upkeep, and efficient operation across the elevator.

The position requires a high school diploma or related experience, ability to work independently or in a team, and a valid driver’s license with potential travel. Benefits are available as part of a Total Rewards package.

Qualifications

• Normally requires a high school diploma and/or experience in a related agricultural field.
• Proven ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Understanding and willingness to learn grain handling.
• Understanding and experience with mechanical diagnosis, service, repairs, maintenance, and upkeep of equipment and vehicles.
• Preferred basic computer skills and the ability to use the computer to enhance grain handling.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and have the ability to travel independently and overnight when necessary.
• Ability to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrant.

Responsibilities

• Grain handling including incoming, stored, and outgoing grain.
• Maintain grain quality, blending, and provide grain drying services.
• Housekeeping related to grain handling.
• Ensure OSHA/state/federal safety compliance and maintain equipment and facilities.
• Provide professional customer service and a pleasant customer experience.
