The State Reclamation and Mosquito Control Board oversees mosquito control across 11 regional programs in Massachusetts, establishing policies and best practices to ensure safe and effective mosquito management.

The Northeast Massachusetts Mosquito Control & Wetlands Management District is seeking applicants for a Seasonal Field Technician (short-term seasonal contract) to perform duties including surveillance and catch basin applications.

Responsibilities include:

• Receiving direction from the Director, Field Crew Supervisor, and/or Entomologist.
• Operating a state vehicle along assigned routes to apply mosquito control products.
• Following all traffic laws, regulations, and safety practices.
• Setting up and collecting mosquito traps for arbovirus testing.
• Collecting mosquito samples systematically.
• Applying larvicides to catch basins within the district.
• Performing additional duties as assigned by the District Director or Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Must obtain a Catch Basin Larvicide Permit; paid training provided.
• Minimum age of 18, valid driver’s license with a good record, and physically fit.
• Comfortable working outdoors and able to lift and carry 40 pounds over uneven terrain.
