Position Description

Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Entry Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Georgetown, Kentucky.

• Hourly Pay: $25.00 per hour
• Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
• Hours: Second shift 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Vocational or technical certifications preferred
• Basic tools required
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine maintenance like oil changes, brake, and tire work
• Two or more years of relevant classroom training and work experience preferred
• Valid CDL Class A preferred

• This position requires you to drive Ryder vehicles. To become an employee, you must:
  • Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
  • Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background check, and motor vehicle check

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
• Conduct standard inspections and preventive maintenance
• Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools
• Identify root causes and perform repairs
• Replace defective components
• Support facility maintenance
• Interact with customers/drivers to clarify issues
• Utilize shop management systems and documentation
• Follow safety, DOT, and other compliance guidelines
• Support operations as needed, including service island duties
