Job summary

The Chicago Botanic Garden is seeking a Security Event Associate to help protect visitors, staff and the Garden during fall and winter events. You will patrol outdoor posts, respond to emergencies and coordinate with local law enforcement as needed, primarily during evenings on lighted trails and entry points.

This seasonal, hourly role requires strong customer service skills, ability to work in varied outdoor weather, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of customer service experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• First aid and CPR training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety of visitors, employees, and property while enforcing Garden rules.
• Provide information and assistance to visitors professionally.
• Work with Visitor Services to ensure quality information and service for visitors.
• Assist with providing emergency first aid to employees and visitors.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and notify Security Management.
