Job summary

City of Evanston is seeking a Seasonal Rec Attendant for the Prieto Community Center. You will assist with drop-in play spaces, open gym times, setup and breakdown of items, and safety checks to ensure a safe, engaging environment for participants.

Hours will vary by assignment. The role requires being 16+ and passing pre-employment checks. Compensation starts at $17.00 per hour and the position is seasonal with a dynamic schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Must have a strong level of safety awareness.
• Must be highly motivated and enthusiastic in order to contribute to quality experiences for our customers.
• Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug/alcohol screen.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe use of programming spaces and equipment
• Set up and break down recreation items
• Maintain, organize, and clean the recreational items within the community center
• Ensure that programming spaces are clean and orderly
• Provide excellent customer service and engagement with customers, addressing concerns and complaints in a professional, helpful manner
• Apply instructions for the safe operation of programming and equipment
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and the public
• Report any accidents, injuries, equipment malfunctions, customer needs and potential improvements in the facility or services to management
• Complete and submit all required paperwork in an accurate and timely fashion (i.e. timesheets, incident reports, daily work logs, etc.)
• Perform other duties as assigned
