Job summary

City of Evanston is seeking a Time Together Instructor for the Parks and Recreation department in Evanston. Pay is $17.05 per hour with an estimated 20 hours per week, mostly mornings and some weekends.

Supervisory structure includes reporting to the Program Coordinator and Division Manager. The role requires activities supervision, setup and takedown of equipment, greeting participants, and ensuring safety and a welcoming environment for children and families.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Available during regular hours plus evenings and weekends.
• 1 year of experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Set up and take down equipment and materials for the program.
• Greet and welcome children, caregivers, and families.
• Supervise play area and ensure safety and guidelines.
• Engage with children and caregivers to foster a fun, inclusive environment.
• Answer questions about the program, registration, and center offerings.
• Monitor equipment and areas for cleanliness and safety.
• Report incidents or maintenance to the Program Coordinator.
• Assist with administrative tasks related to the program.
