Job summary

Prince George's County Government is seeking qualified applicants for Seasonal CDL Operator (Equipment Operator 1G) in the Office of Highway Maintenance. Positions are temporary for the 2027 Snow and Ice Season with variable hours and possible overtime.

Operator will handle light equipment and vehicles, perform safety tasks, and support road maintenance and storm drain operations. Facilities include Forestville, Glendale, or Brandywine locations.

Qualifications

• Completion of a standard grade school course.
• One (1) year experience operating light power equipment.
• A valid Class A or B commercial driver's license (CDL) with mandatory endorsements is required.
• Must have a DOT medical exam.

Responsibilities

• Operates light equipment and motor vehicles used in road maintenance and snow/ice control.
• Performs pre/post-trip inspections to ensure safe operation.
• Maintains records and reports via daily logs and work orders.
• Assists with preventive maintenance and general labor tasks as needed.
• Works as an essential employee during Snow and Ice Control operations.
