Job summary

Frederick County’s Shawneeland Sanitary District is seeking dependable and safety-conscious individuals to serve as Seasonal Motor Equipment Operators. This position supports the District’s seasonal operations through the safe operation of motorized equipment used for road maintenance, snow and ice removal, grounds maintenance, and other assigned duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior experience operating snow removal equipment.
• Valid driver's license with at least two years of driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate a pickup truck with a salt spreader and snowplow attached.
• Operate a bobcat to load salt/sand onto salt spreaders.
• Apply salt, sand, or other de-icing materials to improve road traction and safety.
• Inspect and maintain equipment before, during, and after use to ensure proper operation.
• Service equipment and make repairs and adjustments.
• Respond promptly to on-call notifications during snow or ice events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
