Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Camp Cook to prepare high quality meals for campers in a timely and nutritious manner, ensuring food safety and guest satisfaction during all events. The role includes supervising kitchen staff and managing inventory while upholding health codes.

You will assist in menu planning with the Food Service Manager, order food, and maintain safety standards in a welcoming camp environment.

Qualifications

• Education requirements: Some college, vocational training or comparable job experience in food service.
• Skills: Ability to cook meals/snacks for large groups (up to 300) with calmness and organization; get along with others.
• Physical requirements: able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods; perform duties with or without accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or supervise other kitchen staff in the preparation of meals and snacks.
• Ensure meal readiness in accordance with scheduled times.
• Train other kitchen staff as needed.
• Maintain overall appearance of kitchen staff and area.
• Ensure kitchen clean-up is completed after each meal/snack.
