Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Camp Dining Room Attendant to assist with meal preparation and serving, and to coordinate cleaning of the kitchen and dining areas at the camp facility. The position requires routine food preparation tasks and maintaining kitchen cleanliness under safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include helping with meals, beverages, snacks, and special meals, plus cleaning floors, tables, equipment, and storage areas.

Qualifications

• Six months experience working in a kitchen preferred.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation and serving of meals.
• Coordinates the cleaning of the kitchen and dining areas.
• Assists in preparing meals, beverages and snacks; washes and chops fruits and vegetables; assists in the preparation of special meals to include picnics, guest dinners, etc.
• Coordinates the cleaning of the dining hall to include sweeping, mopping, polishing and waxing the kitchen and dining room floors.
• Ensures the cleanliness of tables, chairs, condiment holders, refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, coffee makers, stoves, and ovens.
• Maintains awareness of safety policies and reports deviations to the Camp Operations Director.
