OMSI is seeking a Camp Cook to join our team and be an essential community member of passionate educators and learners. The Cook helps plan menus and prepares meals for programs at the Coastal Discovery Center near Newport, Oregon or Hancock Field Station near Fossil, Oregon.

Camp Cooks live, work, and play at OMSI’s two locations, with the role running February 2027 through early November 2027. The position emphasizes not just cooking but creating a home-like dining experience that fosters

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience cooking in a commercial kitchen and ability to cook meals and bake from scratch.
• Current Oregon Food Handlers Card is required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Meets OMSI’s driving standards, including MVR checks.
• Must be at least 18 years old to operate, repair, or clean power-driven food slicers, grinders, choppers and mixers.
• Pre-employment checks, including background checks and ACA background checks (annually).

Mansioni

• Plan menus and cook programs at Coastal Discovery Center near Newport, OR or Hancock Field Station near Fossil, OR.
• Cook meals for OMSI programs and provide comfort and nourishment in each meal.
