Oregon Museum of Science & Industry (OMSI) seeks a Camp Cook to join the Camp Gray Team at the Coastal Discovery Center in Newport, Oregon. This camp-based position focuses on planning menus and cooking meals for program participants, adding warmth and nourishment to each meal.

The role is seasonal, running from February 2027 through early November 2027, and requires a high school diploma or equivalent, kitchen experience, an Oregon Food Handlers Card, a valid driver’s license, and completion of

• Combination of experience and education equivalent to a high school diploma.
• Experience working and/or cooking in a commercial kitchen, with the ability to cook meals and baking from scratch.
• Oregon Food Handlers Card.
• Valid driver's license.
• Meets OMSI's driving standards, including a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
• Must be at least 18 years old to operate, repair, or clean power-driven food slicers, grinders, choppers and mixers.
• Pre-employment checks, such as criminal background check, reference checks, and ACA background checks (and annually).

The Oregon Museum of Science & Industry (OMSI) is currently seeking a Camp Cook to join our Camp Gray Team at the Coastal Discovery Center located in Newport, Oregon. This position is an essential community member of passionate educators and learners. They provide more than just food, they offer thoughtful menus, comfort, and nourishment for all. The Camp Cook helps to plan menus, and cooks for the programs at the Coastal Discovery Center.

Being a Camp Cook at our camps is more than just being a cook. In our communities, the cooks provide the comfort and feeling of home in each meal they provide. People tend to bond over food, and cooks are a very important part of that bond. This position runs from February 2027 through early November 2027.

What We Are Looking For:

• Combination of experience and education equivalent to a high school diploma;
• Experience working and/or cooking in a commercial kitchen, with the ability to cook meals and baking from scratch;
• Current Oregon Food Handlers Card;
• Valid driver's license;
• Meets OMSI's driving standards, which includes a completing a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check
• Must be at least 18 years old to operate, repair, or clean power-driven food slicers, grinders, choppers and mixers;
• Pre-employment checks, such as criminal background check, reference checks, and American Camp Association (ACA) background checks (& on an annual basis).
