Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a temporary, non-exempt Christmas Bell Ringer for Seattle area locations. You will monitor the kettle, greet donors, and help raise funds during the holiday season from November through December, often outside in varying weather.

This role requires reliability, the ability to stand for long periods, and a friendly, courteous manner. Positions are in-person at local sites with shifts Monday through Saturday, up to 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• A minimum of six months related experience preferred.
• Must be 17 years of age or older.
• Must be able to clear a Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Monitors a kettle at an assigned location; ensures kettle is never left unattended and funds are secure.
• Greets the public in a courteous and friendly manner; expresses appreciation to donors.
• Conducts duties following The Salvation Army ministry and its principles.
• Rings the bell for charitable donations at outdoor sites in varying weather.
• Communicate with the Kettle Coordinator 24 hours before missing a shift when possible.
