Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking Christmas Bell Ringers for a temporary seasonal role in Washington. Volunteers monitor kettles at assigned locations, greet donors, and support fundraising efforts outdoors during the Christmas season.

Qualifications

Must be able to follow instructions with limited supervision.
Ability to greet and courteously respond to the general public.
Must meet the required dress code.
Able to ring a small handbell and manage the bell and apron.
Must be able to meet attendance requirements.
Able to stand in one location for extended periods in outdoor weather.
Must clear a background check.
No formal education or experience is required.
Must be 17 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

Monitors a kettle at an assigned location; ensures kettle is not left unattended and funds are secure.
Greets the public in a courteous and friendly manner and expresses thanks to donors.
Performs duties in line with The Salvation Army ministry and Christian principles.
Follows The Salvation Army protocol and organizational policies.
Rings the bell outside stores to solicit charitable donations in varied weather.
Offers warm greetings and spreads Christmas spirit to the public.
Directs questions to the Corps or Divisional phone numbers.
Relieves the previous volunteer promptly to avoid delays for others.
Adheres to all policies of The Salvation Army and partnering businesses.
Communicates with the Kettle Coordinator about any shift changes.
