Job summary

Lakeside Book Company operates a distribution center in Indianapolis and is hiring seasonal staff for the summer peak. The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with overtime including Saturdays, at a pay of $17.50 per hour and on-demand pay options.

Located at Indy North, 5550 W. 74th Street, this seasonal position is not eligible for benefits but may transition to full-time after the peak season depending on business needs. Veterans are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience.
• Ability to lift boxes up to 50 lbs.
• Proven success working in fast-paced, physically demanding seasonal periods.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Label, sort, palletize, and wrap product for shipment.
• Load product safely to correct carrier.
• Assemble products according to specifications and drawings.
• Communicate discrepancies, damage, or order issues to supervisors.
• Adhere to safety policies; steel toes required.

This location is a Distribution Center. Overtime opportunities are available throughout the summer months. Throughout June- September will include mandatory and overtime hours based on needs of the business.

Pay: $17.50/hr - On Demand Pay available (access a portion of your earned pay before pay day)

Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm, with overtime including Saturday

Job Duration: This seasonal role is expected to last through the facility’s peak season. Employment may end earlier or extend slightly depending on department workload and business needs

Job Responsibilities

• Accurately label, sort, palletize, and wrap product for shipment
• Safely load product to correct carrier for shipment
• Assemble products according to detailed specifications and drawings
• Communicate with supervisors regarding discrepancies, damage, or order issues
• Adherence to all safety policies – steel toes required

What You Bring

• Previous warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience - required
• Ability to lift boxes weighting up to 50lbs
• Proven success working in fast-paced, physically demanding seasonal periods
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop throughout duration of 8 to 10-hour shift
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal) to be able to collaborate with team members and follow direction from leadership
