Job summary

City of Emeryville is seeking an After School Program Leader for the Youth and Adult Services Division. This temporary, seasonal, at-will position offers the chance to lead creative after-school activities for Emeryville youth.

The role requires energic, responsible individuals who can work well with a team, encourage participation, and follow instructions. Availability Monday through Friday after school is expected, with some flexibility for bus trips and events.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• No formal education required; however experience in a supervised recreational program and/or college level training in Recreation, Physical Education, Education or a related field is desirable.
• Salary and program assignment will be based on relevant experience in the field or college coursework.

Responsibilities

• Organize and lead recreational activities including arts and crafts, sports, and games; supervise field trips, which may include bus travel to local attractions, taking attendance and assisting with record-keeping; issue, maintain and store equipment and supplies.
• Interact with children, parents, care-givers, volunteers and City staff; ensure the safety and well-being of program participants.
