Job summary

City of Alameda’s Recreation and Park Department seeks Recreation Leaders to plan, organize and conduct programs for youth and teens in afterschool and school-year activities. Alameda is an island city with a full-service municipal recreation program and the team emphasizes safety, respect, and quality program delivery.

Hours are weekdays from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm, with some Wednesdays starting as early as 11:30 am due to school dismissal.

Qualifications

• ALL POSITIONS require current certification in American Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR
• Must be 16 years or older
• Volunteer or Recreation experience desirable

Responsibilities

• Recreation Leaders plan, organize and conduct a variety of recreation programs for youth and teens
• Hours may vary depending on the position and responsibilities
• Work Hours: Weekdays, 2:00 pm until 5:30 pm; some days start earlier due to school schedule
