Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in Valley, Nebraska is seeking a skilled Seam Welder Operator to join our production team. You will load shafts into a Sub Arc Seam Welder and machine weld the seams to create durable steel poles.

You will monitor material quality, adjust weld parameters, and ensure finished parts meet precise specifications. The role requires at least 3 years of welding experience, ability to read blueprints and measure accurately, and forklift certification.

Qualifications

• No degree required.
• Minimum of 3+ years relevant welding experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, frequent up to 20 pounds.
• Read blue prints and use a tape measure.
• Valmont trained and certified forklift operation.
• Must maintain high safety awareness at all times.

Responsibilities

• Load steel shafts into Sub Arc Seam Welder.
• Weld the entire seam of steel shaft to make a steel pole.
• Monitor quality of incoming steel shafts and identify substandard material.
• Operate a straightener to straighten shafts after welding.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify specifications.
• May operate overhead crane or forklift for material movement.
