Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the following functions, in addition to other duties as assigned:

1. Keeps seafood area well stocked and appealing to meet customer requirements. Smiles and greets customers, makes suggestions, and provides information on seafood preparation. Takes orders for future delivery and helps fill special requests. Helps resolve customer concerns promptly and courteously.
2. Sets up displays and rotates product as needed. Ensures seafood is fresh, saleable, with proper prices and signage. Handles spoiled, damaged, or near-expiration products following company procedures. Removes non-saleable products to ensure quality.
3. Weighs and wraps merchandise for customers, applying stickers with price and weight. Maintains logs to track freshness and quality. Adheres to all food and safety standards when handling products and using kitchen tools.
4. Responsible for general sanitation of the department. Follows cleaning schedules and guidelines to keep work areas, equipment, counters, and display cases clean and compliant with health and OSHA standards. Properly disposes of trash.
5. Helps control inventory through proper ordering. Minimizes losses by returning products to refrigeration. Reports shortages or overages to the manager.
6. May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking down, and storing deliveries, including operation of a power or hand jack if trained. Training provided.
7. May assist with baling cardboard or related duties if trained. Training provided.
8. Ensures smooth department and store operation by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors. Committed to continuous job performance improvement.
9. Uses all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear.
10. May be asked to assist in other departments as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.
