ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the following duties, in addition to other tasks as assigned:

1. Maintain a well-stocked and appealing seafood area to meet customer requirements. Greet customers with a smile, make suggestions, and provide information on seafood preparation. Take orders for future delivery and assist with special requests. Address customer concerns promptly and courteously.
2. Set up displays and rotate products as needed. Ensure seafood is fresh, saleable, with proper pricing and signage. Handle spoiled, damaged, or near-expiry products according to company procedures. Remove non-saleable products to maintain quality.
3. Weigh and wrap merchandise for customers, applying stickers with price and weight. Keep logs to track freshness and quality. Follow all food safety and personal safety standards when handling products and using kitchen tools.
4. Ensure the sanitation of the department by following cleaning schedules and departmental guidelines. Maintain work areas, equipment, counters, and display cases in a clean and health-compliant manner. Properly dispose of trash.
5. Assist the manager in controlling inventory through proper ordering. Minimize losses by returning products to refrigeration and reporting shortages or overages.
6. If trained, assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking down, and storing deliveries, including operation of a power or hand jack. Training provided.
7. If trained, assist with baling cardboard or related duties. Training provided.
8. Ensure smooth department and store operations by cooperating with coworkers and superiors. Strive for continuous improvement in job performance.
9. Utilize all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear.
10. Assist in other departments as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without accommodation. The requirements include:

• High school diploma or GED, or working towards it. No prior experience required.
