Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Meat/Seafood Department Manager to lead the department, ensure excellent customer service, and supervise daily operations. You will coordinate staffing, promotions, inventory, and compliance with safety standards to deliver a safe and enjoyable shopping experience.

Responsibilities include directing all department activities, training associates, and maintaining product quality and proper temperatures.

Qualifications

Strong communication skills including clear verbal and written communication.
Ability to stay calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
Knowledge of basic math for inventory and pricing.
Current food handler permit required after employment.
Knife handling skills for seafood preparation and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Direct and supervise all functions and activities for the Meat/Seafood department.
Support day-to-day Meat/Seafood operations and customer service.
Provide training and development for department associates.
Create and manage department scheduling to cover customer volume.
Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve results.
Monitor inventory, pricing changes, and signage across the department.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and temperature controls.
Maintain store standards for cleanliness, safety and product handling.
