Job summary

Whole Foods Market IP. L.P. in Chevy Chase, MD is seeking a Seafood Team Member to support counter service, stocking, and sanitation within the seafood department.

You will maintain fresh displays, assist with sampling, and ensure a clean, safe store environment while delivering excellent customer service. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Ensures a fresh and appealing display by checking quality, keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked, rotating and removing out-of-date products, filling ice tables, and performing other duties as assigned.
• Maintains accurate department signage and pricing.
• Maintains back stock in good order.
• Maintains a safe, clean and well-organized working and shopping environment.
• Assists with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing.
• Cleans cases, glass, signs, uprights, coolers, smokers, floors, and drains as required.
• Skins, bones, and cooks or smokes fish; boxes up, labels, and dates cooked fish.
• Assists with periodic inventory checks.
• Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings.
• Provides excellent customer service and addresses needs of customers promptly and courteously.
• Maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products.
• Follows health, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; ensures pricing accuracy.
• Reports safety hazards and violations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
