Job summary

Aegistech in Northern New Jersey is seeking a self-driven Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET II) with experience testing AI-powered applications, Generative AI solutions, and agentic AI systems. You will design and execute quality engineering activities, develop automation, validate APIs and integrations, and support CI/CD and release readiness. The role is hybrid, onsite 3 days a week in Northern NJ.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software quality engineering, test automation, or SDET experience in Agile environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Pytest, Pandas, and OO principles.
• 6+ years of UI automation with Playwright or Selenium.
• 6+ years of RESTful API and microservices testing.
• Hands-on CI/CD and DevOps experience.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Understanding of AI prompt engineering, hallucination detection, and AI output evaluation.
• Knowledge of LLMs, RAG, AI agents, and AI-assisted workflows.
• Ability to design QA strategies, test frameworks, and automation for AI-driven apps.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute functional, integration, system, regression, and automation testing.
• Apply Shift-Left testing by reviewing requirements and defining test scenarios early in SDLC.
• Build and maintain UI automation frameworks using Python, PyTest, and Playwright.
• Perform manual and automated API testing with standard tools.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and DevOps to ensure quality.
• Query and validate data with SQL/NoSQL databases for backend validation.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and ensure tests are integrated into deployments.
• Create test plans, test cases, and quality metrics dashboards.
• Manage defects and communicate quality risks clearly.
• Develop AI test datasets, benchmarks, and evaluation frameworks.
• Experience with performance/load testing (JMeter or similar).
• Knowledge of AI observability, monitoring, and evaluation platforms.
• Experience with monitoring tools like New Relic, Datadog, Splunk, or CloudWatch.
